Social networking sites are growing so fast nowadays. Even elementary students have their own personal accounts. As a teacher, I am alarmed with this and I find it inappropriate for minors to spend so much time socializing online most especially when it affects their studies. Most of my students have been so in to these “hobby” rather than prioritizing their studies. With facebook and twitter as the leading social networking sites, it’s hard to discipline minors on how much time they should be giving on this. Twitter and facebook age restriction should be implemented well to control minors from using these networks. Although it would be hard to detect those who wish to register, it is still best to create a plan that would help minimize minors from using these. There programs on asking questions should be hard enough that only adults could understand so that they will have difficulties on registering to it. It wouldn’t be bad to socialize online, but there should be strict limitations implemented since not all internet users are adults.
