The most important part of a garden is its soil and the condition of the soil. There are different types of soils in a garden and the one that is most nutrient rich and important for any plant or vegetable growth is the top soil. The topsoil is basically the upper layer of soil of your garden. This is where most of the nutrients are stored and is also susceptible to water runoff. It is therefore important than when you water your garden that you do not use too much water so as to flood the topsoil as this may cause this to be thinned out. Some gardeners do use some sort of barrier along planting rows to prevent the depletion of topsoil in certain areas of the garden, particularly in areas where vegetables are grown. Should you see that the topsoil in your garden is thinning out you can buy artificial topsoil from the store or just go out to the countryside and get some. Check out Landscape Design Saratoga.
